Our Story
Convert It started in 2006. I was, and still am, an avid Dunedin music and Flying Nun Record label enthusiast. I had many old videotapes, music cassettes and other photographs I wanted to archive and back up onto modern media - CDs and DVDs then. It was a hobby that I really enjoyed.
I had an idea that I could actually turn this into a business. A website was created and Convert It began. As customers from all over New Zealand started sending their old analogue media, the business expanded to the point where I could run Convert It full-time.
It was definitely a good move for me, I’m self taught with the technical side and passionate about the work I do. I’m fortunate to be able to spend my days doing something I really enjoy. I get great satisfaction when we receive positive feedback from customers.
As each year passes by, the team here at Convert It are getting busier, with many customers realising the significant importance of digitising old material.
